~Here we are again, smack dab in the middle of another splendid summer, and it’ll be over before we know it! We are in full swing with some exciting summertime events, so please read below for the full scoop and plan on joining us for the festivities!
In His Wakes ~ Water Sports Activity Day
In His Wakes, a faith based organization, is offering Littles and their Bigs an entire day of water sport activities, FREE! Throughout the day they will be providing everyone an opportunity for building self-esteem, having success, and victory on the water and in life! Activities will include tubing, skiing and knee boarding. In His Wakes travels internationally conducting 50 - 60 water sport events each year, reaching 1200 youth of all ages. They specialize in working with kids of every age and ability, from those who are unable to swim and may be terrified of water to the advanced level water enthusiast. We will be meeting at 9:00 a.m. at the Prineville Reservoir and transportation may be available if there is enough interest. Permission forms must be signed by guardians and volunteers. · Bird Watching – For scenic birding road trips near Bend, be sure to get a copy of the Oregon Cascades Birding Trail Guide, which includes maps and detailed information about pull-offs and walking trails. · Hike Mt. Bachelor – Located in the Deschutes National Forest, Mt. Bachelor is the gem of Oregon's High Desert. It is the perfect location to enjoy a summer day hike. The resort is covered with a number of gentle to more advanced hiking trails. Guests are welcome to hike from any of the parking lots, or you can ride the Pine Marten lift up from the West Village base to mid-mountain at 7,775ft and hike from there to the Summit.
